Mawdsleys are delighted to have been awarded a contract to support a leading defence refrigeration contractor working on the Eurofighter Typhoon, providing our expertise for the supply of power supply units, solar inverters and associated equipment for the Ministry of Defence.
The Eurofighter Typhoon is one of the most technologically advanced combat aircraft of modern times, providing service for some renowned aerial warfare forces including the UK’s Royal Air Force (RAF), German Luftwaffe and Spanish Air Force (SPAF).
The consortium of manufacturers of the Eurofighter Typhoon includes the British defence company, BAE Systems, of whom Mawdsleys have a rich history of working in partnership with including working on the New Frigates for the Royal Navy.
Providing 24/7-year-round protection for the UK’s airspace, the Eurofighter Typhoon is often one of the first aircraft scrambled when a threat to defence is detected. Because of this, it is essential that the fleet is expertly maintained.
Working in close partnership with the design team over the last 18 months, we supported with the design of components for equipment that will be used by the RAF to charge and recover refrigerant gas out of the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft.
Throughout our time assisting on this project, our vast experience working in similar military applications helped us overcome design and space limitations whilst adhering to all current and future legislation governing the Ministry of Defence and Eurofighter Typhoon.
