A Customer brought in a Stanford Alternator as the bearings had collapsed, rubbed all the poles down and burnt the main insulation. Our Client had believed the AC Rotor needed a complete rewind. We performed a strip and survey on the AC Rotor and discovered the insulation could be repaired.
Instead of a major repair the AC Rotor was repaired within a week, tested and sent back to the customer. There was a significant cost saving and down time was reduced to an absolute minimum.
